Welcome to the homepage of the artist Herbert Gurschner!

The Austrian painter Herbert Gurschner plays an important role in the Tyrolese art history of the 20th century. He stands out especially as the Tyrolese xylographer of the 1920ies and 1930ies. When he emigrated to London in 1938 his work changed as well. He became portraitist of London’s high society and created stage designs for numerous famous London theater houses like the Covent Garden Opera in London.

Widder Fine Arts deals with the work of the artist for many years and published in 2000 the monography of Herbert Gurschner. In our gallery and on many art shows we exhibit paintings, watercolors, drawings and woodcuts of the artist. It is a pleasure to show you the works by Gurschner during a visit in Vienna. If you are interested in selling or purchasing works of the artist, you are invited to contact us by phone, e-mail or during a visit in our gallery.
